Facility Usage Age Requirements
Weight Room/Cardio and Machine Weights
Children 14 years of age and older are allowed to use the facility independently. Children 12-13 years of age must have a guardian with direct supervision. Children 12-13 years of age with Fit Kids Certiﬁcation are allowed. Children under the age of 12 are NOT allowed upstairs in weight room, cardio area, and/or machine weights.
Children 5-12 years of age must be within arm’s reach with a guardian. Children 13-14 years of age must have guardian present upstairs while child is on the track. Strollers may be used upstairs on the track, with consideration of other patrons.
Children in the Facility and Fitness Class
Children 5 years of age and under must be signed into Tiny Tots. Children 6-12 years of age must have parent or guardian present in the facility. Children 8 and older must get permission from group ﬁtness instructor to participate in the class.
Program and Class Registration
The ARK Community & Sports Center welcomes registration by ARK members as well as non-members.
Registration can be made in person or by phone with cash, check, or credit card (MC/Visa/Discover).
Individuals enrolled and participating in a class or program as an ARK member must have a current membership during the activity period.
Registrations are accepted according to the registration schedule on a first come, first serve basis. Members placing their name on a waiting list shall have priority over non-member participants.
Registration must be accompanied by full payment for all programs/classes unless authorized by a Director.
Gymnasium/Racquetball Court Reservations
There will be times throughout the day when racquetball courts and the gymnasium will be available to members and non-members in increments up to a total of two (2) hours back to back. If you would like to reserve open court time slots, reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, the courts are on a first come, first serve basis.
Program Credit and Refund Policy
The following is provided as a reminder of policies relating to program fees:
Errors/Cancellations: In the event of an overcharge, the participant will receive a credit or refund.
Illness/Injury: When a serious illness or injury prevents a program participant from participating in more than half a program session, a refund or credit will be issued for the full amount. The participant must request the refund during the affected program session, not after it has concluded. A medical statement must substantiate the illness or injury.
Program Withdrawal: A refund or credit will be given to any registrant up to one week prior to the start of the program. Exceptions may exist as explained on specific program flyers and/or registration forms.
A variety of items may be checked out from the front desk including locks, hair dryers, flat irons, racquetball equipment, and rock climbing equipment. A photo ID is required to be held at the front desk for check out such items. Photo ID will be returned when the item is returned.
The ARK Community & Sports Center is not responsible for lost or stolen property. If you must bring your valuables into the ARK, you can request a lock at no additional charge to place your valuables in a locker. Please report any suspicious activity to the front desk immediately.
To better serve its members, the ARK Community & Sports Center has installed video cameras throughout the facility to conduct security surveillance in designated areas. For these purposes, video cameras have been installed in facility locations including, but not limited to Tiny Tots Child Care, the entryways, and stairwell. In using The ARK Community & Sports Center facilities and services, you are consenting to your actions and conversations being recorded.

Supervision of Children
Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent while in the facility. Children up to age 14 may use the rock climbing wall with adult supervision only. For their safety, children under the age of 14 are not permitted upstairs. The only exception to this rule is– Children ages 12-14 who have taken the Fit Kids training class are permitted upstairs when supervised by an adult.
INAPPROPRIATE CONDUCT – ZERO TOLERANCE
The ARK Community & Sports Center is committed to providing a wholesome atmosphere for all people to enjoy. Therefore, inappropriate conduct simply will not be tolerated. Any person who engages in any activity deemed to be a serious breach of appropriate conduct on ARK property or while participating in any ARK program or activity shall have their membership and/or program participation privileges suspended or revoked without warning in the manner described herein. For the purpose of this policy, inappropriate conduct includes, but is not limited to:
Consumption of alcoholic beverages
Excessive expression of profanity or vulgarities
Intentional destruction or defacing of property
Any verbal or physical abuse directed at The ARK Community & Sports Center employees, volunteers, members or program participants.
Sneaking into the facilities or assisting those trying to sneak in.
Penalty Suspension of membership privileges for offenses under this policy shall be for a period of ninety (90) days. A suspension may be reduced or increased for cause by the Executive Director. Suspensions of program participation shall be for a minimum of one week. Longer suspensions or membership revocation may be deemed appropriate in some cases. The member or program participant will not receive any refund for prepaid dues or fees.
Policy on Membership Information Dissemination
Membership records, including rosters of names and addresses, are proprietary and for use by ARK staff and volunteers only. They may not be sold, traded or given to any individual or organization outside the association for any purpose.
No member or day pass user may use The ARK Community & Sports Center facility to conduct private instruction and charge or accept compensation.
Policy on Proper Atmosphere
The ARK Community & Sports Center is a community & sports center based upon Christian principles. We expect members, guests, and program participants to dress conservatively, avoid profanity, and practice good sportsmanship. The ARK Community & Sports Center facilities are tobacco and alcohol free. All ARK employees and volunteers are encouraged to maintain the proper Christian atmosphere in their areas of responsibility.
Policy on Use of Tobacco Products
The ARK Community & Sports Center is a smoke free environment. Smoking or use of any tobacco products is not permitted in the facility or on any part of the grounds.
For your safety and the safety of others, The ARK prohibits employees, members and all other individuals from carrying weapons, concealed or otherwise, onto the premises. Carrying of a weapon onto the premises will result in immediate removal of the person carrying the weapon.
Policy on Protective Eyewear
It is the policy of The ARK Community & Sports Center that eye protection must be worn at all times during racquetball.
